The ominous symbolism is also practical, as it provides the proper atmosphere in which to systematically dismantle almost everything Barack Obama accomplished while in office, just as Trump promised.

New Study Reveals Cannabis Does Not Cause Late-in-Life Weight Gain

Because of the long-running cannabis joke about the munchies, as well as the very real medical benefit that cannabis can help appetite increase, cannabis has long been associated with the idea of gaining weight. However, now that research is being opened up, more evidence is surfacing suggesting that cannabis does not directly correlate with weight gain. A recent study provides convincing evidence that cannabis does not lead to more body mass later on down the line.

This long-running study surveyed individuals 15 to 19 years old, and followed up with them 20 years later to ask questions about health and weight. Included were inquires about whether or not the participants smoked cigarettes, drank alcohol or smoked cannabis. According to the study, those who smoked cannabis were not more likely to gain weight later in life. Additionally, those who started smoking as adolescence had the least BMI increase during the 20-year period.

Due to the long-running nature of the experiment, many dropped out before they could be followed up with. Israel Inches Towards Decriminalization of Personal Use

On Thursday Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan voiced his support for the decriminalization of cannabis use in Israel. The new focus would center around limiting the prosecution for the possession of cannabis to administrative fines and educational programs.

Erdan, who has opposed decriminalization in the past, admitted that Israel’s law enforcement agencies have better things to worry about. “I do not take this issue lightly. Legitimacy to drug use has increased, and the number of users has increased,” Erdan told the Associated Press. “The awareness of the dangers and damages from regular use is dropping.” The new policy still requires the approval from the cabinet before it can move forward.

Lawyers Could be Suspended for Practicing Cannabis Law

There are many trades that exist only in legal states, in places where the cannabis industry is flourishing while the rest of the country still hands out fees and jail time for cannabis use. One of those industries is cannabis law; a lucrative practice that also provides a much-needed service. But with cannabis remaining federally illegal, are these lawyers really licensed to serve, or are they in danger of being suspended or worse for the interests they represent?

A recent article from the American Bar Association Journal, reported that the only advice a cannabis lawyer should be giving, ever, is that their clients should not cultivate, transport or sell cannabis for any reason at any time. This is because technically, it is an ethics violation for lawyers to expressly tell their clients it is OK to break state or federal law. Virginia Committee Passes Bill to Stop Driver�??s License Suspensions for those Caught Possessing Marijuana

A Virginia legislative committee has given approval to legislation that would revise a law that mandates a person has their driver’s license suspended when caught possessing marijuana.

The Committee for the Courts of Justice voted 14 to 1 to pass Senate Bill 1091. The measure would revoke a long-standing law that leads to the immediate suspension of individuals charged with marijuana possession.

“I think the General Assembly will recognize that taking someone’s driver’s license away for a marijuana offense is irrelevant punishment, and can actually make it more difficult to hold a job, which is not something that anyone should want,” State Senate Adam Ebbin told 13News Now.

The committee indefinitely passed on Ebbin’s Senate Bill 1269, which would have decriminalized the possession of small amounts of cannabis. RSO in the Snow

From Tuesday January 10 when Flo drove our Prius into our garage until Wednesday January 18 when she drove it out, she and the car where stuck in the house due to the ice and snow that descended upon Portland. There was no way we could risk it. For me, on the other hand, with proper clothing and grippers on my boots, I had no problem walking the four miles to my Physical Therapy sessions, spending an hour working my core, then slowly walking the four miles back home.

It is so nice being able to medicate before leaving the house, taking a vape hit or two during a short pause (for the cause) along the way, and then taking a 15mg single dose medible before leaving the therapist’s office for the wander home.

However, the best part of the snow storm was that Flo left here Wednesday in our Prius and drove home in our new Subaru Outback! I just love this woman! She was so tired of not being able to get out due to having a vehicle that cannot handle the once in a decade snow event, and she did something about it. The near-continuous rank speculation that’s been a way of life in America since the early-morning hours of Nov. 9 ends today. At noon, Donald J. Trump took the oath of office and was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States. He’ll now have access to the @POTUS Twitter handle and the nuclear codes—perhaps using one to announce, in real time, what he plans to do with the other—and then sometime, maybe this afternoon, maybe over the weekend, in between presiding over inaugural balls or empowering alt-right internet trolls, President Trump will get around to figuring out exactly what he’s going to do about all those grandiose (and, in some cases, unconstitutional) campaign promises.

Million Dollar Grow Site Busted in Detroit Because of Tell-Tale Smell

Detroit, Michigan is in the grip of Operation Ceasefire, where police say they are taking neighborhoods back one at a time.

The operation is a partnership between law enforcement, church leaders and community members who are seeking to stop the gunfire and violence between some of the city’s worst gangs.

While this noble cause has recorded a 40 percent reduction in shootings in Detroit’s hard scrabble 9th Precinct, one wonders how Operation Ceasefire ended up finding the otherwise nondescript warehouse with over 200 marijuana plants quietly growing inside it?

Hundreds of People Line Up for Free Cannabis on Inauguration Day

Whether you are excited or filled with concern, Donald Trump is now the President of the United States of America. One group Washington D.C. was looking to promote the cannabis cause and spread some joy at the same time.

The D.C. Cannabis Coalition had planned on passing out 4,200 joints today, with the intention of having a mass “smoke-in” four minutes and 20 seconds into President Trump’s inauguration speech. The event, called #Trump420, is aimed at legalizing cannabis in all 50 states.

It appears that the prospect of free cannabis and protesting the incoming president was too good an offer, as the line quickly reached and remained hundreds of people deep.
