Alcohol is typically the first substance consumed by individuals who report polydrug use later in life, according to data published this month in The Journal of School Health.

Researchers from Texas A&M University and the University of Florida, Gainesville evaluated drug use patterns from a nationally representative sample of 2,835 12th graders.

Authors found that youth use of alcohol most often preceded the use of tobacco or marijuana. They also reported subjects’ age of alcohol initiation is the strongest predictor of later polydrug use.

Illinois has a medical marijuana program, which is great for the patients that can participate in the program. However, there are many, many patients that don’t qualify to be a patient in the program because they don’t suffer from a condition that is on the list of qualifying conditions. When one considers the issue of marijuana reform being put into the hands of state lawmakers, some of which apparently do not understand the first thing about weed, it makes complete sense why after nearly two decades of legalization here in the Land of the Free, not a single state has managed to bring down prohibition through the legislative process.

It seems the eight Massachusetts Senators, brought together last year to form the state’s “Special Committee on Marijuana,” have absolutely no concept of what cannabis is, what it does, or how it is consumed. A report from The Boston Globe suggests that during a fact-finding mission to Colorado this week in an effort to research the world of recreational marijuana, at least a couple of the senators made complete fools out of themselves by showing their ignorance over the most basic aspects of the cannabis culture.

For starters, Senator John F. Keenan, who argues legalization should be averted in the interest of public safety, is quite obviously confused as to how marijuana is consumed. According to the U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection, over a ton of marijuana concealed within a shipment of fresh carrots was intercepted at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility.

During an inspection of a tractor/trailer containing the shipment from Mexico, official discovered 2,817 carrot-shaped packages containing 2,493 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $499,00.

Marijuana use by adolescents is not associated with lower IQ or poorer educational performance once adjustments are made for potential confounders, specifically cigarette smoking, according to longitudinal data published online ahead of print in the Journal of Psychopharmacology.

British investigators assessed the relationship between cumulative cannabis use and IQ at the age of 15 and educational performance at the age of 16 in a cohort of 2,235 adolescents.

After researchers adjusted for potentially confounding variables, such as childhood depression and cigarette use, they reported, “[T]hose who had used cannabis [greater than or equal to] 50 times did not differ from never-users on either IQ or educational performance.”

By contrast, teen cigarette smoking was associated with poorer educational outcomes even after researchers adjusted for other confounding variables.

This new cross became the catalyst for the Sirius Black project. Additional hybridizing lead to us perfecting the smell and taste of our newest strain, Sirius Black. The current version of Sirius Black looks, smells and tastes incredible. The hybridizing technique involved multiple crosses, educated guesses, and a little luck.

Sirius Psychedelic is another new strain we are working on. It has green, pink, red and purple hues. It is a work in progress, but it is a beautiful multicolored flower.
