Today, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP), a group of police, prosecutors, judges, and other law enforcement professionals working to end marijuana prohibition, declared their support for Ohio’s Issue 3, the proposed constitutional amendment to tax and regulate marijuana in the state. On October 8th, 2015 the Division of Chemical Health and Safety (CHAS) of the American Chemical Society voted to form the Cannabis Chemistry Subdivision (CANN). he story behind Imperial Genetics, and their signature OG Kush, Bubba Kush, and Kurple Fantasy strains embody the true definition of "legendary." Many know of these strain, but few know where they came from and who sourced them. Bubba and Fugee were a part of the OG Kush phenomenon, as well as the back stories behind Bubba Kush and the renowned Kurple Fantasy strains. Here they are to discuss some of their famous creations.

Can you give me a brief rundown on the history of Kurple Fantasy?

[Bubba] Let's start in chronological order starting with the '92 OG: I brought the Kush out from Florida to L.A. B-Real from Cypress Hill, Snoop and all those guys started rapping about it, and made it famous. Fugee was one of the original OG's. He was around in '92 and was among the first five of that started growing the Kush. He continued on to Colorado, and I continued to L.A.

The Kush has been in Colorado about as long as it's been in L.A, only major difference at the time was that it was never given out here in Colorado. Unfortunately - and fortunately - it was spread by my friends in L.A. Josh D was the first OG in LA to get the Kush, and he gave it to two friends, and they gave it to two friends. That's how the Kush raged all through Southern California. That was my part in that OG history, along with the Bubba Kush. That's where Fugee steps in, and starts his genetics. He started playing with genetics around '99 in Denver. Fugee came here [Denver] from Florida, at least five years before me. I would say he has been in Colorado here since '99.

One week from today it will be Election Day in Ohio. Ohio voters will vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on various issues, the most high profile of which will be marijuana legalization. Issue 3 would legalize marijuana possession, cultivation, and for some, cultivation for profit. If Issue 2 passed as well, it would nullify at least some of the provisions of the marijuana legalization initiative, and according to some in Ohio’s Legislature, would nullify the entire legalization initiative, even if both pass. We can wait for the results to be finalized and cross that bridge when we get there.

Cannabis Seeds If You Touch Them With Your Fingers?

I have found marijuana seeds in my marijuana on many occasions. I am sad to admit that for a very long time in the 1990’s I smoked brick weed that always had seeds in it. Two competing marijuana initiative campaigns in Maine announced Friday they will unite behind one state ballot measure to end marijuana prohibition in 2016.

The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol will stop collecting signatures in support of the initiative it filed in March and spearhead the campaign in support of a similar initiative filed in February by Legalize Maine. Each of the campaigns has collected approximately 40,000 signatures, and they will work together to collect the remaining signatures needed to qualify for the November 2016 ballot. They have until January to collect a total of approximately 61,000 valid signatures of registered Maine voters.

Many of the observers at the City of Detroit Zoning Board meeting on October 15 objected to some of the punitive and outright illegal proposals contained within the city’s ordinance regulating medical marijuana distribution centers in the city. Several attorneys who spoke to the Commission pointed out that at least one of their provisions likely violates state law, and others are just mean.

Medical marijuana businesses would not be allowed waivers by the Zoning Board of Appeals and by the Building and Safety Department for variances to the ordinance. The Canadian federal government considers all medical marijuana dispensaries to be illegal, and has called for all of them to be shutdown. There is a high concentration of medical marijuana dispensaries in Vancouver, B.C. in Canada. But so far the police seem to be unwilling to enforce anti-medical marijuana dispensary laws.
